Sitting outside in the rocking chair practicing mindfulness when the almost-4-year-old came out and asked to sit in my lap.
Practicing mindfulness can be done anywhere for any length of time, even seconds.
Take a deep breath, notice how it feels as you let the air in then out.
Notice how the air feels on your skin.
Notice any smells or sounds around you.
Notice when your mind wanders and gently bring it back to the present.
Repeat.
